What's new

The Geely Monjaro EM-i goes on sale in Germany in mid-November 2026 as a plug-in hybrid SUV with two battery sizes and an electric WLTP range of up to 116 km. The model had its European premiere at the Paris motor show in October and is now moving into the German market with prices from 39,990 euros. It is a five-seat SUV based on the GEA-Evo architecture.

Geely says around 7,200 hours were spent on the chassis tuning. Development work was carried out at Geely Technology Europe in Frankfurt, giving the project a clear European engineering base. The Pro+ and Ultra versions add electric all-wheel drive and six driving modes, while the Ultra also receives adaptive dampers.

  • Pro: entry version with the smaller battery and front-wheel drive.
  • Max: front-wheel-drive version with the same powertrain level as Pro.
  • Pro+: larger battery, higher system output and all-wheel drive.
  • Ultra: top version with the larger battery, all-wheel drive and adaptive dampers.

Specifications and technology

Hybrid system and batteries

The EM-i Super Hybrid system combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric drive and intelligent energy management. In Pro and Max form, the system produces 201 kW and 544 Nm, with drive sent to the front wheels. The 0-100 km/h time for these versions is 7.7 seconds.

Pro+ and Ultra raise system output to 246 kW and torque to 667 Nm. With the more powerful setup and electric all-wheel drive, the SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds. Geely uses lithium iron phosphate batteries in two capacities.

The smaller battery has a gross capacity of 18.4 kWh and provides up to 82 km of electric WLTP range. DC charging peaks at 38 kW, and charging from 30 to 80 percent is said to take about 20 minutes. The larger 29.8 kWh pack allows up to 116 km of electric range and accepts up to 78 kW DC, cutting the 30 to 80 percent charge to about 15 minutes.

The body is 4.80 metres long and the wheelbase is 2.845 metres. The cabin has five seats, while boot volume is 633 litres. Folding the rear seats increases luggage capacity to as much as 1,532 litres.

Markets, prices and availability

Trim levels and equipment

German availability starts in mid-November 2026, after the European presentation in Paris in October. The Pro version starts at 39,990 euros, Pro+ is priced from 43,990 euros and Ultra from 45,990 euros. No price is given for the Max version.

The entry version already includes a long list of standard equipment. It has a 15.4-inch HD touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic glass sliding roof and an electrically operated tailgate. Electrically adjustable front seats with heating, ventilation and memory functions are also standard.

  • LED headlights.
  • 540-degree camera.
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay.
  • Wireless Android Auto.
  • Warranty for the vehicle and high-voltage battery for 8 years or 200,000 km.

Zack Zhang, Managing Director of Geely Auto Germany, described the Monjaro EM-i as an SUV designed for the autobahn, long-distance comfort and carrying five people with luggage and a trailer. Sales chief Philipp Hempel pointed to the starting price of 39,990 euros and the standard equipment as key elements of the model's position among plug-in hybrid SUVs.

Verdict

The Geely Monjaro EM-i reaches Germany with a clear focus on range, space and equipment. Its strongest figures are 116 km of electric range, 246 kW in the higher versions and a starting price of 39,990 euros.
