What's new
The BMW iX4 brings an SUV coupe body style and takes a visibly different direction from the related iX3 from the B-pillar rearwards. The front follows the Neue Klasse look, with slim vertical kidney grilles and twin headlights. The main visual change is the more steeply sloping roofline, which gives the car a more dynamic profile and also affects luggage capacity.
At the rear, the car features a spoiler integrated with the third brake light, horizontal lamps and a diffuser in the bumper. A panoramic glass roof is standard equipment, so it is not reserved only for higher trims. The M60 xDrive version will get 21-inch wheels, while other variants will be offered with wheels from 20 to 22 inches as an option.
The cabin uses the latest solutions prepared for Neue Klasse models. The driver gets a panoramic display running almost across the full width of the windscreen, a large Head-Up Display, an angled touchscreen and a new steering wheel with a central spoke in one of the available versions. The rear bench is split 40:20:40, while the lower roofline reduces boot capacity to 490 litres instead of 520 litres in the iX3.

Specifications and technology
Two drivetrain versions are planned at launch, and both use one electric motor on the front axle and one on the rear axle. That gives every initial version all-wheel drive. The iX4 40 xDrive produces 374 hp and 520 Nm, with 0-100 km/h taking 5.6 seconds.
The stronger iX4 50 xDrive develops 469 hp and 645 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 210 km/h. A battery with 108.7 kWh of usable capacity gives a range of up to 828 km, while the 800 V electrical architecture allows DC charging at up to 400 kW.
Performance and charging
In the 50 xDrive version, ten minutes of charging is said to add enough energy for 387 km of driving. The base iX4 40 xDrive has a maximum range of 638 km while retaining all-wheel drive. The figures show that the differences between the versions concern not only power output, but also the declared range.
The M60 xDrive version will join the range later. This variant delivers 612 hp and 875 Nm, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 240 km/h. It will receive adaptive M suspension, an electronically controlled differential and two driving modes called M Sport and M Sport Plus.

Markets, prices and availability
The BMW iX4 will arrive in showrooms in March 2027, and orders are already being accepted. The Polish price list starts at PLN 310,000. Initially, buyers will choose between two drivetrain versions: iX4 40 xDrive and iX4 50 xDrive.
The M60 xDrive version will be added to the range later, but its key output and chassis details have already been given. In the top version, M sport seats with ten-way electric adjustment will be standard. In the other variants, M Sport seats and multifunction seats will be available as options.

No markets outside Poland or named rivals have been listed. The confirmed information therefore focuses on the showroom date, the start of orders, the Polish base price and the structure of the electric drivetrain range.
Verdict
The BMW iX4 combines Neue Klasse electric hardware with an SUV coupe body and a detailed specification from the outset. Its strongest facts are the 828 km range in the 50 xDrive, 400 kW charging and the use of two motors with all-wheel drive in every announced version.
