What's new

The Nissan Pixo will go on sale at the beginning of 2027 as a five-door electric city car with a starting price of around 20,000 euros. The model is 3.79 m long and shares its technology with the Renault Twingo, which is already available. Orders for the Pixo are open, and buyers can choose from three equipment lines.

The key point is the combination of compact city-car dimensions and an electric-only drivetrain. The turning circle is just under 10 m, so the car is clearly configured for tight urban streets and parking spaces. The closely related Renault Twingo has also been selected as one of the seven finalists for the European Car of the Year 2027 award.

There is no range of different power outputs. Every version uses the same electric motor and the same lithium iron phosphate battery. The differences between the trims are concentrated on equipment, digital services, driver assistance and comfort features for everyday use.

Specifications and technology

The Pixo is powered by an electric motor producing 60 kW/82 hp. It draws energy from a lithium iron phosphate battery with a capacity of 27.5 kWh. Preliminary figures put the driving range at up to 259 km, a figure that fits the car's role as a compact urban vehicle with a body just under 3.80 m long.

AC charging at 11 kW is standard. At a DC fast charger, the battery can accept up to 50 kW. Charging from 15 to 80 percent is said to take about 28 minutes, which is one of the main usability figures quoted for the model.

Markets, prices and availability

The Pixo is already available to order, with market launch scheduled for the beginning of 2027. Prices start at around 20,000 euros. No specific markets, exact delivery date, acceleration figure or top speed are given.

The line-up consists of three trim levels. The base version includes automatic climate control and a 10.1-inch touchscreen with smartphone connectivity. The mid-level Advance starts at 21,300 euros, while the top Evolve version is priced from 22,690 euros.

  • Base version: automatic climate control, 10.1-inch touchscreen and smartphone integration.
  • Advance: from 21,300 euros, Google services including navigation, AI voice assistant and individually sliding rear seats with up to 17 cm of adjustment.
  • Evolve: from 22,690 euros, adaptive cruise control, parking assistant, one-pedal driving, 18-inch alloy wheels, and heated, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors.

The Renault Twingo, which shares the Pixo's technology, also starts at 20,000 euros. In base form, however, the French model offers only air conditioning, while sliding rear seats are standard. That comparison shows that Nissan has placed a different emphasis on standard equipment and trim progression.

Verdict

The Nissan Pixo has a clear brief: a five-door electric city car priced around 20,000 euros. Its strongest facts are the 3.79 m length, turning circle of under 10 m, range of up to 259 km and DC charging from 15 to 80 percent in about 28 minutes.
