What's new
The Xpeng L03 was unveiled in Munich as the brand's first world premiere of a new model outside China. The SUV coupe is positioned as an alternative entry model in the Xpeng range and as a direct statement to established competitors in Europe's largest passenger-car market. The debut took place at the Showpalast in Schwabing-Freimann during a three-day event with workshops, media sessions, product briefings and company presentations.
The scale of the launch underlined the role assigned to Germany. Xpeng invited around 1,400 guests from across the world, choosing a city closely associated with Bavarian carmakers and their show products at the airport. The L03 is intended to support the targets set by Markus Schrick, the brand's German representative, who now speaks not only of 15,000 Xpeng cars on German roads by the end of next year, but of up to 20,000 units.
- The world premiere took place outside China, in Munich.
- The model is intended as an entry point into the Xpeng line-up.
- First deliveries are planned for the fourth quarter of this year.
- The base price is 35,600 euros.
Specifications and technology
The L03 is a five-door SUV coupe with a length of 4.65 metres, placing it among midsize SUVs. Its design combines a coupe-like roofline with SUV elements, while the front end carries boomerang-shaped LED headlights. At the rear there is an LED light bar, aerodynamic 18-inch alloy wheels are standard, and the Ultra model receives 20-inch wheels.
The drivetrain range is broader than in earlier Xpeng products, which usually relied on one or two production-friendly variants. For the L03, the brand plans different battery sizes, driveline layouts and equipment levels, a move Markus Schrick describes as more flexibility and choice for customers. Fully electric versions use either a 58.3 kWh or 71.2 kWh battery, with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive available.
Key figures
Power ranges from 245 to 388 hp. WLTP range is quoted at 440 to 520 km, depending on version. The 400-volt electrical architecture allows DC charging at up to 236 kW, and under optimal conditions charging from 20 to 80 percent is said to take 18 minutes.
The line-up will also include Xpeng's second model with a range extender. In that version, a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a generator continuously recharge a 37.25 kWh battery that supplies the electric drive motor. According to the manufacturer, this configuration should deliver more than 1,000 km of range on one tank of fuel.

In Munich, Xpeng also demonstrated the latest stage of its Next Generation Pilot system. He Xiaopeng, chairman and CEO of Xpeng, and Liu Xianming, head of the Xpeng General Intelligence Center, showed the system in demanding Munich city traffic. The company wants to roll out NGP worldwide next year once regulatory conditions are met, with recent decisions by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe helping to define the framework for urban functions.
NGP is described as being able to perceive and react to pedestrians, cyclists and e-scooter riders. It is also intended to recognise different European traffic signs and follow local driving rules, including right-before-left priority at unsigned intersections. In China, Xpeng has already introduced the second-generation Vision-Language-Action model, and the company says driver interventions per 100 km fell by nearly 26 percent after market launch, while takeovers on narrow roads dropped by almost 36 percent.
Markets, prices and availability
First deliveries of the L03 are scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year. Pricing starts at 35,600 euros, while the range-topping Ultra version is listed at 46,600 euros. In addition to Germany, Markus Schrick is also responsible for Austria and Switzerland, making those markets part of the same regional management structure.
Xpeng says it is currently one of the faster-growing brands in Germany and recently reported a 215 percent sales increase versus the first half of 2025, though the absolute numbers remain low. The company is not relying on online distribution alone and is not building a fully separate sales network. Instead, it is working with dealers, workshops and retail groups that are already established in the market.
- Markets under the German management structure: Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
- Base price: 35,600 euros.
- Ultra price: 46,600 euros.
- Deliveries: fourth quarter of this year.
The exact day of the world premiere, the full exterior dimensions, torque, acceleration, top speed, boot capacity and pricing for every version were not specified. What is clear is that the L03 is described as the smallest Xpeng model heading to Europe and that it will offer more combinations of drivetrains and equipment than previous products from the brand. That matters for the company's plans, as Chinese manufacturers are looking for markets able to absorb production volumes that domestic demand can no longer take.
Verdict
The Xpeng L03 arrives in Europe with a low entry price, a broad set of powertrain choices and a strong emphasis on assisted-driving systems. If deliveries begin in the fourth quarter as planned, it will quickly show whether German customers see this Chinese SUV coupe as a credible alternative to established brands.
